11 March 2010: SUS RTT Data in CDS Submissions – RTT 18 week KPI report for Jan 2010
The RTT KPI report is a monthly report to support NHS organisations to improve the quality and completeness of their RTT 18 week data within their Commissioning Data Set (CDS) data flows to SUS. These indicators are provided to help local health communities monitor progress in the collection and submission of key data elements relating to 18 week activity and are not intended as a performance measurement tool.
The RTT 18 week January KPI report includes data submitted to SUS by the Month 10 (January) inclusion date of (23/02/2010). This report follows the same format as the usual KPI reports.
All enquiries should be directed to enquiries@ic.nhs.uk. Please quote ‘RTT 18 week KPI figures for January 2010’ in the subject line of the email. This will help speed up your request.
The report measures a number of data quality criteria for 18 week RTT activity in terms of RTT clock stops, clock pauses and transfers between organisations. The indicators cover the Admitted Patient Care and Outpatient CDS types (130 and 020 respectively) for each provider of NHS funded care submitting these CDS types. The report also allows users to view the indicators at SHA and National levels.
A separate guide explains how to interpret the report and details how each KPI (numbered RTT1.1 to RTT5.4) is constructed, together with an explanation of why these KPI have been selected for the report. The guide is available from RTT KPI Guidance.
9 March 2010: SUS CDS submission - KPI figures for February 2010
The following February report (Excel, 2.3Mb) looks at aspects of Commissioning Data Set (CDS) submissions to SUS in light of future direction outlined in the NHS Operating Framework.
The report measures submission of 100% comprehensively coded Admitted Patient Care (APC) records monthly, the submission of CDS data using net protocol for APC, Outpatient (OP) and A&E data, and whether 18 week wait fields are populated in APC and OP CDS types.
Interpretation notes and methodology details are included on the "Notes" worksheet within the report. All queries should be directed to enquiries@ic.nhs.uk. Please quote ‘KPI report for February 2010’ in the Subject of the email. This will help speed up your request.

5 March 2010 - Issues with Failed Extract Requests
Users continue to experience an unacceptably high number of failed extract requests. A full explanation of the reasons for these issues together with hints for submitting extract requests with a higher probability of success are available - February SUS service update (pdf, 41.8Kb).
BT, CfH and the IC are working together to resolve this situation and to improve this service. We appreciate your patience while we make improvements and apologise for any inconvenience this causes you.
5 March 2010: Unused User Account Clean up
On a quarterly basis unused SUS user accounts are removed from the system. A complete explanation of this process is available - quarterly user account housekeeping guidance (pdf, 1.1Kb).
The next deletion of unused accounts will occur after close of business on 6 April 2010.

26 February 2010: New data added to Data Quality Dashboards
The Data Quality Dashboards are a national resource to support improvement and completeness of all Commissioning Dataset (CDS) data flows to SUS in accordance with published data standards. The following versions of the Dashboard have been updated:
- Data Quality Dashboard – Provider level view
- Data Quality Dashboard – Commissioner level view
- Maternity Data Quality Dashboard
- Data Coverage Dashboard (previously called KPI Dashboard)

Those who have registered and use the current Data Quality Dashboards will be emailed links to the updated Dashboards

The Data Quality Dashboards are available via this link.
To use the Data Quality Dashboards you first need to complete the registration form. Once registered, users will be able to read the relevant guidance and download the applications. As the Data Quality Dashboards contain non patient identifiable data there are no restrictions on the number of users per organisation.

25 February 2010: SUS CDS submission - NHS Number Publication for Jul - Dec 2009
The following documents look at Commissioning Data Set (CDS) submissions to SUS in light of validity and coverage of the NHS Number. The word document is a summary report associated with the spreadsheet which contains detailed figures for APC, OP and A&E.
This report shows the counts and percentage of records Trusts are submitting with a valid NHS Number during the period July - December 2009. The CDS types reported on are finished APC records, Outpatients and A&E. The percentages of valid NHS Numbers are also shown at National and SHA level.
The Information Centre will publish an updated report every 3 months. This will measure changes in submission of the NHS Number over time.
