Books and Journals
Please provide the following citation information:
- Book title or the title of the journal
- Chapter or article title
- chapter number and pages for books or volume, issue, and page numbers for journals
- call number if it is in the CSU Library collection
You may submit photocopies of material that you would like digitized or you may upload electronic files to Electronic Reserve. The ER staff is also able to locate and digitize print material found in the CSU Library and other library collections.
Due to copyright restrictions Electronic Reserve is unable to accept more than one chapter (or poem) per book, or one article from a journal issue.
- Photocopies of book chapters must include the title page, and the copyright information that is usually on the verso of the title page.
- Journal articles should include the copyright statement from the journal.
- ER Staff can scan 8.5” x 11” or 8.5 x 14 (legal size).
- In order to maintain scanned image quality please submit single sided copies and do not staple the pages together.

Submitting materials to ER is an online process. Please contact us if you have questions.
Print out a copy of this confirmation for each ER document or Shelf Reserve item submitted and bring it to the Morgan Library Interlibrary Loan Office with the corresponding material to be scanned or placed on Shelf Reserve

No, you do not need to check them out. If you have requested that library materials be used, and have included all necessary call number information, we can retrieve them for you. If we retrieve library items for you, you do not need to bring in your ER email confirmation. If an item is not available, we will obtain a copy for you.
Our goal to process materials as quickly as possible, and our busiest times of the year are at the start of each semester, so we encourage you to turn your materials early. We have a 3 business day turnaround time during the first 3 weeks and 2 business day turnaround after that.
