Lots Going On Lately
Blog Published: Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:04 PM EDT Blog Updated: Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:04 PM EDT
Wow, isn't it nice to finally see regular posts from me now? Hope all is well with everyone stopping by. Lots of things have been happening lately from here. Thursday, Stephanie and James Gamble and I of our team took a trip out to Rochester so that I could compete in the New York Statewide FBLA Web site development competition. I presented the web site I built for our local chapter of FBLA, and ended up winning first place. Now from tooting my own horn, I'd like to send out a very special congratulations to Stephanie Gamble for completing her Master's degree in Business Administration from Columbia College. Our entire team got to witness her graduation on Sunday. We are all very proud of her. Now, let's talk some weather. It was a gorgeous day outside today, and it was good to finally see some sun and some fair heat simultaneously. While I was a bit off by forecasting 90 degrees for a high temperature today, we did manage to make it up to 88 here in Fulton during the 1:00 PM hour. In the same hour, Syracuse's Hancock Airport recorded 89 degrees. Looking ahead, a pretty good chance of showers and thunderstorms will be present during the afternoon hours tomorrow. This active weather is associated with a system located over parts of Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri at the 11:00 PM hour now. We have the possibility of receiving a half-inch of rain by the time the system exits near this time tomorrow night. Stay tuned to our homepage for continuous updates throughout the day tomorrow, and keep an eye to the sky. Stay tuned.
Spring Break Wrapping Up

Thanks for stopping by everyone. Sorry once again for not being up-to-date here with this blog thing. As you can see, new things have been popping up on the web site, including an all new Forecast page. Check it out! I'd like to welcome all readers from Chris Pirillo's web site Geeks! to my web site and our blogs, as my blog is being featured now along with my technical expertise. Now let's get to the weather. It turned out to be quite a nice day today around Central New York, just minimal cloud cover. This will probably change by Friday, as some southern moisture is going to try to make it's way up here in our neck of the woods. Things continue to look good all up and down the East Coast for the most part for all of the Spring breakers hitting the beaches. As we all head back to school and work this coming Monday, expect chillier temperatures with rain showers. Rain should unfortunately continue into the day on Tuesday, and maybe even all through the end of the week. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming days. Stay tuned for updates on pages and for the hopeful completion of the rest of the site soon. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week everyone!

Another Wild Week of Weather

Hey there everyone and thanks for stopping by tonight. Sorry it's been over 2 months since I've blogged. I have been extremely busy with designing and building the new web site. I didn't realize how much work the transition to Mac would be. This week in the weather, more ups and downs in temperature, very typical for the month of March. As we approach a high of near 60 once again on Wednesday, temperatures will plummet through the day to around 40, and continue to drop overnight. We could even be talking about snow showers for the day on Thursday! We'll have to wait and see. As for St. Patrick's Day, a slight chance of a rain or snow shower is to be expected for the big parade in Syracuse, with temperatures nearing 40 degrees. Thanks for reading and I hope to talk to you again soon! Stay tuned.

Happy Monday everyone, thanks for stopping by! Yes I did produce some well-liked information today, and if you heard it, you're probably still shocked yet excited. For probably the first time ever I announced a 100% chance of a school closing 5 days prior to when expected. Big leap right? Well, not so fast. Wind chills are expected to be around -30 here on Friday, and all of the computer models and forecasters seem to agree. Schools delay on -20, and close on -25 (at least that's the way it was done when I e-mailed then-Superintendent Egan at 5AM on hopeful closing days). Anyway, stay tuned for updates throughout the week. Now the really exciting news. We're finally dumping the Windows Vista interface here at The Central New York Weather Center after only a year. Next month, we'll be completely doing an overhaul to Mac OS X Leopard here in the forecast center. This will provide up-to-the-second (literally) updates on what's happening with the weather all over. This will also open new doors yet to be opened here as of now to new design techniques and page formats on the website (we've yet to determine if this means a redesign, but it probably will). With this new technology combined with the media power and knowledge of The Central New York Weather Center, we will continue to be at the top of the ratings and rankings lists, as we have for some time now, as the #1 online weather source in Central New York. Stay tuned.

Another Mess
Tuesday, January 6, 2009
Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by. I hope all of our readers had a nice holiday season. Now, let's talk weather. We have yet another huge winter storm system coming into the area for tonight. Current models and forecasts I've looked at seem to indicate things will start out as snow this evening, and then make the transition over to sleet and freezing rain overnight. A brief warm-up will be in store for areas around Syracuse and points south from there between about 7 and 10am tomorrow, as points north of Syracuse will hover just below the freezing point throughout the length of the system. This will mean more snow and mainly a wintry mix event for places like Fulton, Oswego, and over to Rome and Oneida as well. Baldwinsville, down to Syracuse, into Ithaca and Cortland will see snow, then a brief period of ice, then some rain showers to round out the day tomorrow. At any rate, it's going to be a busy next 24 hours. Stay tuned, and if you have to head out tomorrow morning, do so with caution.
