Learning and teaching for students with dyslexia
Wednesday, July 1st, 2009
Posted by Nicky at 8:41 amWould any engineering or technology students with difficulties such as dyslexia be willing to be interviewed on their experiences in higher education, please? I’d also be interested to hear from lecturers and librarians about their experiences of assisting students with dyslexia, and in the experiences of classmates where adaptations have changed the ways in which classes are run. Please mail n.j.harrison@hw.ac.uk if you can help. Thanks.

Fibre optic broadband systems are not subject to electrical interference, unlike those which use traditional copper wiring. It provides increased speeds, but is expensive to install.
Satellite broadband systems, which require a receiver dish similar to those used for Sky TV systems, can be used in areas where other types of broadband access are not available. The UK government is also keen to encourage people to drive greener vehicles by charging less road tax for smaller, more fuel efficient cars.
The issue is slightly complicated in that overall it would be more environmentally friendly to keep existing vehicles on the road for longer, even though they produce more emissions than modern ones. The carbon cost of scrapping existing vehicles and building new vehicles to replace them should be considered in addition to the running costs.Smart meters provide the user with up to date information on energy consumption and tariffs and transmit current meter readings directly to electricity supply companies.
