Required:
ALA-accredited MLS or advanced degree in archives administration, public history or other relevant related field. Evidence of commitment to the archival and/or records management professions as evidenced by at least three years progressively responsible records management or electronic records experience and memberships in professional associations. Comprehensive knowledge of electronic records management principles and practices, including database management, systems analysis, and current digital preservation theory and practice. Basic knowledge of web authoring tools/HTML, metadata standards, reformatting guidelines, grant writing, and public records laws. Superior interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.Preferred:
Certified Records Manager (CRM). Administrative and supervisory experience; superior problem solving ability. Prior academic library or higher education work experience.DUTIES:
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a creative, out-going, enthusiastic professional for the position of Electronic Records Archivist. Under the direction of the University Archivist, the Electronic Records Archivist oversees the university’s records management services, creates unique records series, and implements the university’s records retention and disposition schedules according to federal and state regulatory requirements and campus needs.
The Electronic Records Archivist will supervise office support staff, including graduate research assistants, interns, and fellows; maintain the University Archives and Records Management Services web site, listserv, blog and wiki; provide a comprehensive training program for records liaisons and other university employees; participate in engagement and outreach for the Carolina Digital Repository; advise on the establishment and maintenance of electronic records; establish workflows for ingest of electronic records into the Carolina Digital Repository; develop policies, procedures and requirements for the proper management of university records in all formats; and provide expert advice and consulting to other Library special collections departments on issues concerning born-digital materials.
Particular focus is on the management, appraisal, description, and preservation of electronic records with historical, evidential, or administrative value to the university. The Electronic Records Archivist works closely with staff in the Carolina Digital Repository, Enterprise Resource Planning, University Counsel, Information Technology Services, Internal Audit, UNC System General Administration, and other units to insure compliance with state and federal laws and to identify the appropriate management of the university’s records in all formats.AVAILABLE:

Five or more years of full-time experience in a library, museum, historic site, or related institution with significant responsibilities for planning and mounting exhibitions. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with curatorial, conservation, public services, and digitization library staff to develop priorities and accomplish goals. Active participation in appropriate professional organizations. Excellent communication skills.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an experienced, creative, and collaborative individual for the position of Keeper of the North Carolina Collection Gallery. This position has responsibility for general management of a 3,000-square foot suite of exhibition areas and historic period rooms and a 22,000-item collection of artifacts, memorabilia, numismatics items, "museum" objects, and other historical materials. Located in the Louis Round Wilson Special Collections Library, the Gallery offers exhibitions and related programs that interpret North Carolina history, literature, and culture. The Keeper is responsible for planning, researching, and leading the installation of several major exhibitions each year and for appropriate maintenance of long-term exhibitions and smaller displays of rare materials. The individual in this position will be responsible for maintaining detailed inventory and other records on Gallery holdings and working in conjunction with North Carolina Collection Curator to expand holdings in selected areas. The Keeper also provides or coordinates guided tours of the Gallery, makes presentations to cultural and professional groups, and helps organize various promotional and outreach activities. The Keeper helps maintain and plans expansion of the Gallery webpages and development of digital projects related to Gallery holdings. Additionally, the individual in this position participates in Special Collections committees and task forces that plan and implement various projects and initiatives. AVAILABLE:
