Latest review: Riverside Country Park, WoolerNorthumberland
REVIEW BY: N Doodles - August 2014
First time to wooler. We took our touring caravan and my brother hired a static caravan. Touring pitch was of good standard but could of been larger as could not get car next to caravan, but not a problem just left it in carpark. Tv reception is very poor but did manage to watch what we wanted. Site is very clean and well looked after. Toilet block was always clean when we went in but could do with more toilets as three is not really enough for amount of people using them but then again we did not find this a problem. Shop has all the basics and is not really over priced staff very freindly. Club house is over the road but not a problem. Did not stay for entertainment but did have two meals in the bar which was good value and tasty. Never went swimming but pool looked very nice just a little on the small side but looked inviting.
We did not hear any loud noices as night time even tho the site was full of tents.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would book again and would recommend to others
It sounds to me some people will moan about anything and everything

Very disappointing!!! on an industrial estate and not in woodland area National park as advertised.. we coudnt even bring ourselves to stay after being given a smaller than advertised lodge or should I say caravan disguised as a lodge right next to the road that overlooked an industrial park with lorries and cars passing every second.. not what id expect for a relaxing holiday.. would definatley NOT recommend to anyone. How they can call this a leisure and spa complex beats me totally not worth the money wouldn't even rate a star for this!!

mum and dad was really looking forward to this fishing holiday but it was a disaster from the moment they arrived my dad being disabled was not catered for at all three steps to the cabin. when using the toilet no rail had to pull himself up on the window sill, had to sleep in the chairs as unable to get out of the beds when discussing this with site manager was told well that's just unfortunate and laughing which is unacceptable, the holiday ruined on day one. also when booking this holiday was not told that you had to pay another £150 to fish and another £100 for bait which was also a waste of time they never caught a fish between them the whole two weeks they were there, then there was a problem with ducks having to clear up their mess before my dad could even step out the door.very very disappointed with this place and wont be returning or recommending to anybody complete waste of money

Kimmel Bay is a beautiful location well served by camping and caravan parks. It is a great location for exploring north Wales and Snowdonia national park. Do yourself a favour and base yourself in any other camp site but Sunnyvale. The campsite is a concrete jungle with no atmosphere. Very little grass and feels as though your holidaying in a car park. While my kids were playing in the play park, It was nice to hear children speaking their native welsh language. Unfortunately they only spoke to my wife and children in English when they told them to F**k off. My sons skooter was stole from the decking area outside our van. The on site security were responsive and retrieved the skooter from a welsh kids on the site. Our gas supply was turned off in the night by the same people. Reported to staff at reception and they were apathetic and weren't interested. At the end of our two weeks I witnessed a bike being stolen from a neighbouring van. Again the site staff were uninterested and I assume its because its a common occurrence. There is a Fish and Chip shop on site. The quality of food was disgusting. The shop and club opened when they felt like it. You have to pay £50 deposit on arrival but on departure they have no one to check the van and you leave £50 out of pocket. They promise to call you and refund it on a card later. What if you don't have a card or need the £ for fuel to get home. My family didn't feel welcome at Sunnyvale and wouldnt recomend it. The staff were unhelpful and aloof.

Latest review: Auchenlarie, Gatehouse of Fleet
REVIEW BY: A Boyd - July 2014
We have really enjoyed another holiday at Auchenlarie for the fourth year in a row!! The park is located in an idyllic setting and we've had fun on the beautiful beaches and coves. Being so close to local towns has meant that we have been able to visit many nearby places too! We have stayed in another static caravan and as always it has been clean, tidy and well maintained and ideal for a family. This year there was no information pack which was easily remedied by visiting the staff at the office on site. However, we did send our teenage son to enquire, and on returning to the caravan he was deflated having felt his request had not been met with the same respect that would be given to an adult. We encourage our children to develop their independence and we were disappointed that he was left feeling this way.
Only other negative to report this year was the litter in the park and people who had allowed their dogs to fowl and had not picked it up, even though there is designated areas to get rid of same. Disappointing that people can not be more responsible, especially as children are playing. Also with changes to the laundry facilities on site, really felt that for families the cost for washing and drying of clothes was pricey compared to previous years.
Ending on a positive note, the shop was very reasonably priced on site, and the staff were friendly. The play park facilities and recycling facilities were also excellent this year. We were impressed with the changes made to the pool facilities on site, particularly family changing and better lockers.
Thanks again for another great holiday.
