Management strategies for pythium diseases of greenhouse vegetable crops in British Columbia

A fact sheet on pythium species, fungal-like organisms (Oomycetes), commonly referred to as water molds. 'Some pythium species can cause serious diseases on greenhouse vegetable crops resulting in significant crop losses.' This paper published in 2007 by the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture and Lands gives details of the disease cycle, symptoms, monitoring and identification, integrated disease management, cultural and biological controls and chemical controls and resistance.
