Gunman, Identified as Army Doctor, Is Killed After Attack

Military officials identified the gunman who was killed as Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. One new suspect has been taken into custody, with two others now released.

He was born in September 1970 in Virginia and studied at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
