international Airport reported 7.9 inches of snow. This was
6.9 inches greater than the October normal of 1.1 inches. This was
the snowiest October in Rochester.

in Rochester occurred back in 1887 with 10.0 inches.
Since that statement was issued... there has been an
extensive search to authenticate /National climate data
center... Minnesota state climatology office... and on
station/ that record. Since no official form has been
found... this snowfall amount will be no longer considered
official and the October 2009 snowfall of 7.9 inches will
now be considered the snowiest October in Rochester.
