Prince Andrew Visits Hayle Wave Hub Office & Terrill Bros. Foundry
HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, spent an afternoon in Hayle. His first stop was to Terrill Bros. Foundry on the Guildford Road Industrial Estate. Nick Talbot runs the last Foundry in Copperhouse - specialising in stainless steel castings.
The next stop was to the Wave Hub office in Foundry Square where the Duke received a detailed briefing on its current status from the RDA project leader, Claire Gibson, and from wave energy device manufacturers OPT and Fred Olsen.
The Duke was welcomed to Hayle by the mayor, John Bennett, and the Town Clerk, Eleanor Giggal.
Shown in the photograph are the Duke with Wave Hub Manager Claire Gibson looking at a section of the Wave Hub cable.

Blooming Hayle a Huge SuccessThousands packed the King George V Memorial Walk for a fun-packed afternoon on Sunday, 26th of June. There were 20 stalls, children's entertainment, food and lots to see and hear.
Hayle Town Band started the afternoon with a rousing prelude to the official opening by the mayor at 2pm. They then marched along the walk. During the afternoon there were clog dancing, fitness training, Hayle Samba, Hayle Praze Men's and Hayle Ladies Choirs and demonstration of surf life saving and gig rowing.
A great time was had by all and this looks set to be an annual event.
Congratulations to organisers Margaret Tanner, Shirley Olds, Ray Wyse, Anne-Marie Rance and Clive Polkinghorne.
