Last Updated December 6, 10:13 AM ::Court Solidarity with the Glover Family!Monday, December 6. U.S. Federal Courtroom of Lance Africk. 8AM. A Call to Action to pack the U.S. Federal Courtroom of Lance Africk (500 Poydras) to support the family of Henry Glover during closing arguments. In Africk's courtroom, the Glover section is on the right behind the prosecutors. Supporters will be gathering outside the Federal Courthouse at 8am. There is specifically a call for white folks to show solidarity, as very few were at the rally on Friday. You are probably aware of the case of Glover who, in all accounts, was killed, then burned in his friend's car, by New Orleans Police Department officers in Algiers on September 2, 2005. It has been front page news in the Times-Picayune since the trial started three weeks ago, but gained national recognition and scrutiny by Federal officials after A.C. Thompson's report in The Nation. Please work around your schedules and stand up to support the Glover family as if it were your own!Transformers the MovieTuesday, December 7. ARK. 8PM. FREE.
