May 23, 2012 | Posted by Brig BotherOK, so the VERY EXCITING news today is that Exit (aka Escape Game DERO!) has been picked up by SyFy in the US. SyFy’s track record in this sort of thing is actually pretty good – Estate of Panic was a Bother’s Bar favourite, Total Blackout is close to the source show, Cha$e was an OK stab at Run For Money even if it was a bit charmless. Looking forward to this immensely.
Also sounding very exciting is a show called The Great Escape beginning on June 24th on the US TNT, where people are challenged to escape situations. Tickety-tock.

It’s Eurovision week on Bother’s Bar!

Other than the UK song and the Russian grannies, I’ve literally no clue as to what will be presented to us from Baku this week.
I will set up posts for the two semi-finals (Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm) and the big final on Saturday- I can’t guarantee I’ll be here for them, but I’m interested in your comments.
Also apparently there’s a Kiddy Boyard UK series, well, three I suppose press release incoming. The big news from the French show which starts filming very soon is that the boat for the zipline adventure IS BACK, and for the night editions they’re filming too, although whether it’s going to be used for the same purpose remains to be seen. I will be VERY UPSET if it is not accompanied by Variation No. 1.
Meanwhile, Sandi Toksvig is lined up to front 1001 Things You Should Know.

- 20th May – 8pm, FREE - Mix It Up Real Good plays Badugi. You are advised to read up on Badugi hands – it’s less complex than it looks - the winning hand is the lowest hand with the most unique cards (in terms of rank and suit) in it.
- 27th May - 8pm, £5.50 - The Bother Series of Poker Round 11.
- 3rd June – 8pm, FREE - The Mix It Up Real Good Grand Final! Double stacked 8-Game Mix tournament. Put everything you’ve learned over the last six months to good use!
- 10th June – 7:30pm, £22 – The BSOP SUPERSTACKED GRAND FINAL. Literally hundreds of pounds up for grabs in a special deepstacked tournament, not only for the tournament itself but also the fate of the bonus money riding on the league. Who’ll end the season covered in glory? Please note the earlier start time
