Upcoming: Jane Bowles and Aphids

Tonight, following the performance of A Quarreling Pair from Melbourne's Aphids company, in residence through the weekend at La MaMa ETC, the creative team and special guests will discuss the work of Jane Bowles, author of the title work of the three-
play evening. Bowles remains a fairly well- kept secret in the American drama, though Marc Robinson makes a very strong case for the importance of her work in his recent book The American Play, and here's a rare chance to both see and hear about her plays, as well as their unique, New York- inflected influence on the other two playwrights of the evening, Lally Katz and Cynthia Troup.
